Actor, comedian, filmmaker and cannabis entrepreneur, Seth Rogen shared support for expungement of criminal records for cannabis crimes in a recent panel discussion at “Reimagining Justice: Race, Cannabis, and Policing.” The online event was organized by Marijuana Policy Project and sponsored by Pax and Rogen’s cannabis brand Houseplant, and it brought together a variety of guests to discuss topics surrounding cannabis policing and race. During the event, many speakers pointed to how the war on drugs has been disportionately targeted at black people, and now the legal cannabis market has been structured in a way that makes participation difficult for this targeted community. While mostly white business owners profit off of the legal cannabis market, those already incarcerated remain imprisoned, and those who are out of jail still have criminal records that often prohibit them from being part of the industry.
